About 1Password
1Password is a password manager that securely stores and auto-fills your login credentials across all devices. It generates strong, unique passwords for every account, eliminating the risk of reused passwords.
For teams, 1Password offers secure password sharing, custom vaults, and detailed access controls. Travel Mode lets you remove sensitive data from devices when crossing borders, restoring it when you arrive. Watchtower alerts you to compromised passwords.
The service uses end-to-end encryption—you are the only one who can see your passwords. The Secret Key adds an extra layer of security beyond your master password. For security-conscious teams, 1Password is a top choice.
Our Take on 1Password
Verdict: 1Password is the password manager we'd recommend for remote teams. It has shared vaults, strong admin controls and a polished experience people actually adopt. For small teams, the Teams Starter Pack ($19.95/month flat for up to 10 users) is the standout deal. Note the March 2026 price increase on personal plans, and that there's no free plan, only a 14-day trial.
Pricing
| Plan | Price | Covers |
|---|---|---|
| Individual | $47.88/yr (~$3.99/mo; up from $35.88 in March 2026) | 1 person |
| Families | $71.88/yr | Up to 5 members |
| Teams Starter Pack | $19.95/mo flat | Up to 10 users |
| Business | $7.99/user/mo | Larger teams, advanced admin |
| Enterprise | Custom | Custom |
Small-team maths: 8 people on Teams Starter Pack pay $19.95/month, about $2.50 each. The same 8 on Business pay $63.92/month. Move to Business when you pass 10 users or need its policies and reporting.
